Are mens peaked beanie hats meant to cover the whole of your ears?

myself being a beanie lover depends, the tighter ones i go for full ear, the baggier ones i like em to chill in the back with the bottom of my ear showing, regardless i need hair showing in the front and its always gotta flip over.
